MC-30 Luciole for non french speeking builders
Hello to everybody here in the forum.
I know that the complete forum is french but due to the situation that there are some builders now in Germany two
who had build or are in the process of building the wonderful Luciole it would be very helpful for them, me included,
and hopefully interesting for you to see what happens here in the 120Kg class.
Let me introduce myself:
I'm 44 years, live in southern Germany and fly all sort of light flightsport things over the last 25 years. (Hangglider,
Paraglider, Paramotor, Trike and also 3-axes motorglider Alatus which I own for 2 years now.)
I bought a material set for the MC-30 number 92 some weeks ago from a guy in Scotland who decided to go for a
two seater now.
So I'm still in the process of studying the plans and documents coming with the Luciole.
Ist question for me at the moment will be how to do the certification. There is a very long way here in Germany. How
is the procedure in France, which documentation do I have to do during the phase of building or do you also have an
inspector coming around for a amateur plane like this?
I only know the amateur certification for a unique ULM an that was quite easy, but how does it work here?
Thanks a lot and allays happy landings!
Michael

Hello Michael
in France there is two possibility to homebuild for MC30:
ULM less than 300kg (one seat) 450kg (2 seats) and 65km/h minimal without stalling; it is "declarative construction" constructor is only responsable with declaration card http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/ulm-demarches-particuliers. You can take off and landing at home. Some airport are closed to ULM.
CNRA one seat to 4 (3 and the pilot) motor Under 150kW http://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/aeronefs-construction-amateur-cnra with registred F-P... and construction controled by autority "OSAC/DGAC" and controled by autority (RSA NAV or OSAC) every year (or 3 year if constructor). https://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichTexte.do?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000000424203. Usualy CNRA land and take off on airfied/airport.

Re: MC-30 Luciole for non french speeking builders
Dear Pascal,
thanks for your response. So if I understand you correct I can do the complete building according
the plans and get a certificate as ULM later only by declaration.
Do I have to make a detailed documentation about the build procedure or any test?
Of cause a load test will be my own interest but thats all, correct ?

Hello Michael
Yes, in France the ULM are Under declaratory mode. For your own safety, that construction is ULM or CNRA to envisage test-tubes for your joinings and to test the matter as indicated in the handbooks. (CNRA=> test-tubes must be preserved for control)
